Lebanese fine artist Fadwa Zbib first trained at Beirut's Institute of Fine Arts, and went on to earn a postgraduate diploma (DES) in painting from the Lebanese University, a Master's degree from the Académie Libanaise de Beaux-Arts, and a PhD in Arts and Sciences from the Lebanese University's École Doctorale. As a child, Fadwa already sought refuge in painting to overcome the conflicts and war she lived through in her home country, and as a way to express her inner yearnings and hopes. In her artistic practice, she navigates seamlessly between oil, watercolor, acrylic and silkscreen printing, leveraging the particularities of different media to convey a panoply of personal and human experiences. To Fadwa, art is a feeling and a passion above all, and the greatest tool to refine the soul.
